Well, It Was a Good Run While It Lasted

Perhaps enough Republicans decided they were tired of being called fascists by the Democrats and figured they’d really nominate one. They have their internationally-minded socialists, so the GOP decided to go with a nationalist socialist. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

Either way, it’s going to keep getting tougher for Christians. Broader society is becoming increasingly hostile to the fundamental truths. It may seem like issues such as abortion are tilting in our favour, but consider: How many people were indicted for selling baby corpses? Only one: a whistleblower. Planned Parenthood isn’t defunded. With a left-wing romp in this year’s elections, they become secure again.
Basic reality is being denied. Sex, i.e., men and women, doesn’t exist except as social constructs we are told. Sex, i.e., procreation, has no higher good other than physical pleasure insists the world.
We’ve been here before, of course. Many times and in many places.
“We’re not saying you can’t worship this Jesus. You need to pay homage to the Emperor too, that’s all.”
“You just have to pour the libation on the altar. You don’t have to mean it.”
“It’s not that you can’t believe what you want, you just can’t talk about it in public.”
“If you don’t like gay marriage, you don’t have to get one, but you can’t tell other people they shouldn’t.”
It’s coming. More and more of us are going to start facing real persecution for remaining faithful. We’ve had a long respite in this country and too many Christians have come to think of it as the norm. But the world hated Christ, and if we’re serious about following Him, they’ll hate us too.
The storm is coming. Hold fast.
